Context and the problem
Black Label provides enhancements and upgrades for cars. The challenge of this project consisted of delivering a seamless usability experience to its visitors.
The main design focus of this website was its navigation. The company offers services for a vast variety of cars, thus its website required an intuitive flow for users to find the right part for their car model. To do so, we conducted an internal Open Card Sorting to come up with ideas on how users would be able to navigate at ease.
Once we drafted a couple of Information Architectures, we conducted a Closed Card Sorting to test which version had more engagement in terms of where the information was placed, its naming, and category grouping.
Wireframing was key for this process because it helped us deliver an effortless experience finding products. Finally, we did an internal usability test to make sure the navigation excelled in performance.
We were able to deliver a website with optimal navigation and pleasant imagery that helped users focus on the products. Both mobile and desktop layouts displayed products effectively and made it easy to complete a transaction.
Methodology and tools applied
Card Sorting, Usability Testing, Wireframing, Prototyping, XD, Invision, Optimal Workshop.
The website will be released in late Spring 2021
